Premier Dairy Manufacturing Facility Tour
by: Garelick Farms
Garelick Farms takes great pride in living through the company purpose of strengthening lives through the goodness of dairy. General Manager Edward Cohen and Plant Manager Cleland Cochrane invite you to join them for a tour of their manufacturing facility located in Franklin, Massachusetts. Garelick Franklin supplies milk and dairy products to the entire Northeast region.
In 1931, Israel and Max Garelick borrowed money to purchase their farm in rural Franklin, Massachusetts. Today, Garelick Farms, which is owned by Dean Foods Corporation, is one of the largest dairies in the United States supplying dairy products to businesses in the entire Northeast corridor. Garelick Franklin receives approximately 60 tanker loads of milk daily and ships via its own truck fleet to small and large businesses. Customers include Stop and Shop, Market Basket, Shaws, CVS, Cumberland Farms, plus hundreds of small businesses. Just about any place that has dairy products sells Garelick Farms Dairy Pure milk products.
In this tour, you will see how milk is received and sent for quality testing. The tour will then proceed to processing and the Quality labs. From the Quality labs, we will go to filling and finish at the Cooler, where milk is staged for placement onto the Garelick truck fleet.
