Quality and Safety in the Dairy Business

Dean Foods / Garelick Farms takes great pride in living through the company purpose of strengthening lives through the goodness of dairy. Quality and safety are integral parts of meeting this objective.  Edward Cohen is the General Manager for two of the largest dairies in the country; Franklin and Lynn Massachusetts.  These two manufacturing locations supply milk and dairy products to the entire Northeast region.

Edward Cohen has a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of Southern New Hampshire.  Mr. Cohen spent a large part of his career on multiple assignments with PepsiCo.  He managed the supply of multiple well-known brands including Gatorade, Tropicana, and Frito Lay.  His assignments with PepsiCo were as National Customer Director, Northeast Director of Sales and Logistics, and Executive Leader for market expansion. As the National Vice President of Sales at Wise Food Snacks, Mr. Cohen serviced the needs of all customers. 

Presently, Mr. Cohen is the General Manager for the Northeast division of Dean Foods, Garelick Farms.   Throughout his career, Mr. Cohen has recognized the paramount need to use basic quality and safety methodologies to manufacture the highest quality products.  As General Manager, he focuses his entire team using these philosophies to satisfy the needs of his customers by bringing quality dairy products to homes throughout this region.  Mr. Cohen will discuss quality compliance and safety initiatives used at the Garelick Farms manufacturing plants.

In a previous life, Mr. Cohen served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, 972nd Military Police Division of the United States Army.  He is married with 4 children, and he is a passionate Red Sox and Patriots season ticket holder.
