ISO 9001 has begun its revision process. In the next few months, all eyes will be riveted on the impending revision. Of equal importance, but with considerably less fanfare, ISO 9000 has also embarked on its own revision process. Why is this important? What actually is ISO 9000 and why does it matter?
This session will discuss:
- The nature of ISO 9000 Quality management systems — Fundamentals and vocabulary
- Why ISO 9000 matters
- Its importance to ISO 9001 and many other management standards
- The Quality Management Principles
- What we can expect from the revision
Speaker Bio:
Denise Robitaille is the current chair of TC176/SC1 the committee responsible for ISO 9000, the guidance on quality fundamentals and terminology which is the foundation for ISO 9001. She also chairs PC302 the committee responsible for revising the ISO 19011 guidance standard on auditing quality management systems.
Denise is the 2025 ASQ Freund-Marquardt Medalist. She has participated internationally in standards development for over 20 years and has served in several leadership roles. She has authored over a dozen books on a variety of quality topics. She has facilitated the implementation of ISO 9001 for multiple organizations for over 25 years. Denise is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality and a certified lead assessor.
