March Dinner Meeting

March 21 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Case Studies in Quality Management

Presented by Anthony J. DeMarinis, RIASQ Vice Chair

Whether you currently or someday hope to hold the title of Quality Manager, Director or VP, this talk is for you. Each day, Quality Leaders are faced with situations and must come up with creative solutions, rationales and policies to do the job…sometimes after 2 PM on a Friday afternoon right before the last shipment must leave the dock.
ASQ espouses many principles for managing and sustaining quality, but those principles can be hard to live by. This is especially true in the heat of the moment when a crisis is looming close on the horizon and going against the flow could cost you your job.
Tony will let you try your hand at applying your principles to typical business scenarios and then review appropriate responses that follow ASQ principles and lessons learned. This is designed to help you see the broader perspective that goes with a management position.
Tony is currently an independent Quality Management Consultant specializing in Sterilization, Contamination Control and Quality Systems for more than 10 years. Tony has BS degrees in Biology & Microbiology and a MS in Quality Management, and he is an ASQ Fellow and with Certifications for Quality Auditor, BioMedical Auditor, Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, 6 Sigma Black Belt and Pharmaceutical GMP Professional. He has also taught refresher courses for CQA & CMQOE certification programs through the local ASQ sections for 20+ years. Tony has over 30 years experience using quality management techniques and value added auditing including the use of Failure Investigation and Root Cause Analysis to improve processes and products.
