Leveraging Six Sigma for Transportation / Logistics
Presented by Keith Murphy
All goods and services that show up in the stores are brought there by truck. The use of solid quality techniques in the transportation industry is not common and rarely discussed. Keith is changing that for Dairy Farmers of America (DFA). DFA is the USA leader in not only bringing milk products to stores, but ice cream, cheese and more. Garelick Farms milk, private label products, Friendly’s ice cream are all brought to you by DFA trucking in the Northeast. Keith’s innovative programs are quickly becoming the benchmark for other DFA logistics operations nationwide. In this presentation, he will share his initiatives that not only highlight quality but safety too.
Keith Murphy is the Senior Director of Logistics for Dairy Farmers of America in the Northeast. His role entails developing, executing, and implementing projects and programs in facilities from Maine to Maryland. Keith began his career as a sales driver, moving into management 25 years ago. He is a lifelong learner who seeks opportunities to add to his skill set when possible. He is an Adjunct Instructor for Southern New Hampshire University supporting the Supply Chain and Project Management disciplines. He recently taught 2 semesters of Six Sigma for Quality. The key to leading is taking theory and turning it into a process. My hobbies include hiking, cooking, motorcycling, and woodworking.
